Cultivate a Spirit of Praise

Shalom and greetings to all of you in Jesus’ name!

And so quickly, we are into another month. It’s wonderful to see what the Lord is doing and working through each one of your lives and ministry for His Kingdom. May you continue to be faithful, committed, fervent in the ministry, and trust Him with the rest. Amen!

Today I’d like to share with you a thought from 1 Chronicles 16:41 . . .

“With them were Heman and Jeduthun and the rest of those chosen and designated by name to give thanks (praise) to the Lordfor his love endures forever.” [NIV – emphasis added]

There is a good chance some have never heard of Heman and Jeduthun; they’re among the Bible’s more inconspicuous characters. In the wonderful worship choirs of king David, they were appointed to GIVE thanks or praise unto God. Heman and Jeduthun were under the king’s authority, and it was literally their job. Refer 1 Chronicles 25:6 . . .

“All these men were under the supervision of their father for the music of the temple of the Lord, with cymbals, lyres, and harps for the ministry at the house of God. Asaph, Jeduthun and Heman were under the supervision of the king.” [NIV]

And it’s your job too. You are under the authority of the King of Kings WHO commanded you to be thankful [Colossians 3:15] – “offer to God thanksgiving” [Psalm 50:14] – “come before His presence with thanksgiving” [Psalm 95:2] – “enter into His gates with thanksgiving [Psalm 100:4] — and “in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you”  [1 Thessalonians 5:18].

God’s Word says, “For it isn’t the cutting of the bodies that makes us children of God; it is worshiping Him with our spirits” [Philippians 3:3, TLB].

Have you ever been so moved that YOU sprang into spontaneous worshippraise, and thanksgiving?

Nothing is more thrilling. You will never know what you’re missing if you DON’T praise YOUR Creator with every fiber of your being. Sing, lift-up your hands, cry out, laugh, whatever… IF YOU do it in a spirit of praisethanksgiving and gratefulness, GOD WILL love and enjoy it.

Plus, thanksgiving leads to better physicalemotional, and mental health. The Creator of your soul is a master psychologist. He KNOWS that thanksgiving is NOT ONLY appropriate but therapeutic. It’s hard to be thankful and at the same time be grumpy, critical, or ill tempered.

So, let us CULTIVATE a spirit of praise. Amen!

May you all stay safe and God bless you, your families, and your ministry.

Sincerely,
