Greetings to you all in Jesus’ name!

Wow . . . how quickly time passes, and we are in July, signaling to us that in just another 6 more months we will be facing a New Year. Time is something which is unstoppable, and it can pass us by quickly without notice. But remember not to be so busy with today that we lose sight of our tomorrow. With this, I would like to share with you all a thought from God’s Word to encourage and strengthen you. 

Psalm 139:16, “You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your book!” [TLB]

In 1726, the author of a volume titled The Primitive Liturgy dedicated his book, in part, “to all honest admirers of the Good Old Days of their Best and Wisest Forefathers.” “The good old days” is a nostalgic longing for the past. The assumption is that the future, about which we know nothing, surely will not be as good as the past, about which we know everything.

Deficiente as that reasoning might be, it’s hard to talk people out of their longing for the comfort of the PAST. But WAIT – what IF WE could have confidence that the FUTURE, regardless of what it holds, COULD BE TRUSTED in every way? That is surely true for those who look to God.

Sometimes we can get so absorbed with all the good things or happenings of the past, we somehow are NOT expecting and appreciating WHAT God is doing today and tomorrow in our lives, relationships, family, ministry and the world at large today.

The psalmist tells us that all the days of OUR life – PAST, PRESENT, and FUTURE – were written in God’s ‘book’ BEFORE any of them came to pass. That means WE CAN TRUST God with OUR past, present, and future days. None is better than the other because they are all IN the hands of God.

We MAY NOT know what the future holds, but WE know WHO holds the FUTURE. Amen! So, TRUST God with YOUR tomorrow.

Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” [NLT]
